Organisations have three levels of management which influence entrepreneurial activities
♦ Top level or senior level
♦ Middle management
♦ First level management

Role Top level managers in the Entrepreneurial
organisation
Three main roles
♦ senior managers are ultimately responsible for providing and rolling out a vision and articulating
how the organisation can get there(mission)
♦ responsible for putting into place “pro-entrepreneurship” organisational architectures and culture
♦ the key roles of senior management is to ensure that the company employs people with the
desire and drive for entrepreneurship
● Endorsing entrepreneurial initiatives
● Refining the entrepreneurial initiative
● Shepherd – shepherd the entrepreneurial initiative through provision of support
● Identify resources needed to pursue the entrepreneurial initiative
● Acquire the resources needed
● Deploy the acquired resources to make the innovative idea a reality
