MA in Education Practice: Research with Qualitative and Quantitative Assignment:
For this assignment, the student should consider the population data that has been provided within the Excel data file: ProjectData.xls. The provided data is associated with a research project undertaken on a small sample of further education students. The main aim of the study was to assess if there was any evidence to suggest that the propensity of negative acts perceived to be perpetrated on student respondents was different depending on gender or sexual orientation. In addition, the study was interested in the effects that negative acts have on student course satisfaction and general health. In that regard, the three scales were measured, specifically the 22-item negative acts scale (NAQR), the 10-item course satisfaction scale (CSAT), and the 12-item general health scale (GHQ). The data file also consists of three additional variables, the first listing a student’s gender, the second listing a student’s age, and the third listing the student’s self-reported sexual orientation.
The project requires that a small report be written (approximately 2000 words) that details a descriptive analysis of the characteristics of a selection of the variables, along with any relationships that might exist between those selected variables. In addition, the learner should consider including the results from an independent samples hypothesis test and the results of a correlation analysis.
