Students will have access to all required course materials directly through the course Brightspace site. Eastern University provides a Cengage Unlimited subscription for all students in this program and students will find a “course materials fee” included with their Student Accounts bill which includes this subscription and all course materials built into this course. Students are not otherwise required to purchase or rent any other materials for the purposes of this course.

While the A, students should become comfortable thinking about and solving problems. This resource provides an excellent overview of situational analysis, hypothesis creation, solution generation, and persuasive communication. 

Butterfield, J. (2017). Problem solving and decision making: Soft skills for a digital workplace (3rd ed). Boston, MA: Cengage

This resource is fully integrated in Module 1 of your course and is an abbreviated and illustrated handbook that provides supplemental information that the student may find useful. Since the CBL has formed a relationship with Cengage, its inclusion as a supplemental resource is a recommended asset, but student engagement should not be assessed.

The student must conduct independent research using some combination of books specific to their chosen topic of study and academically oriented, peer-reviewed journal articles acquired through the Eastern library research database.

APA Standards

Proper APA formatting and referencing are required for all written assignments. For discussion boards, proper formatting is not required; however, you MUST cite your sources. Improper formatting or citations will result in up to a 20% deduction for your grade on the assignment.

When page requirements are given for an assignment, proper formatting is assumed (1″ margins, 12 point font, double spaced), and the title page does not count toward the page requirement.
