FIT 1006 (2022) Assignment 3 You should complete all of the three questions below. The marks for each question are equally weighted. Question 1: Consider the confusion matrix below, which provides the results of a system designed to identify bananas in a fruit sorting system.. Banana Orange Pear Predicted Class Banana Orange Pear 28 4 5 5 20 6 10 1 40 (a) Please compute the Precision, Recall and F1 Score in respect of bananas. (b) Would you use this system to identify bananas? Please explain why. Question 2: For the following data. X Y 6 7 7 8 10 11 11 12 13 15 6 7 9 7 15 15 16 14 18 20 7 4 15 14 True Class(a) Compute the Q correlation, showing your working (in terms of the key steps). (b) Imagine I made a mistake in the last value. I should add 4 to the X value of that point. Will the Q correlation change? Please explain. Question 3: The question concerns hypothesis testing. (i) Based on the following article (Sadleir, Paul HM, et al. Relationship of perioperative anaphylaxis to neuromuscular blocking agents, obesity, and pholcodine consumption: a case-control study. British Journal of Anaesthesia 126.5 (2021): 940-948.), the Australian Government banned the use of PholCodine. Focussing on the contents of Table 4 of the paper (reproduced below), please argue for the Australian Governments decision, taking care to point out any limitations in your argument. (ii) There are two groups both with 10 entries, with G1 having a mean of 6 and G2 having a mean of 13 with both having variance of approximately 7. Is it likely that a t-test with a p value of 0.01 will reject the null hypothesis? Please explain. (iii) It turns out that I accidentally missed off the following numbers from G1: [3 4 3 6 4] If I include those extra numbers, what is the impact on the results and reliability of my T-test? Please explain your answer
