Module 1 – Problem Identification
• Week 1: Review problems:
• Identify the poverty alleviation challenge you are passionate about
• Ask why are you passionate about this problem and what can you to solve this issue and help lives
• Draw a “Rich picture of problem”, stakeholders and potential impact of a solution
• Think about and brain storm various solutions and the value chain
• Week 2: Commence problem identification
• Research and Use “Design Thinking” to develop a range of potential value adding solutions
• Research and use “Lean Canvas” to develop the various aspects of your proposed solution/s
• Meet your mentor, be able to explain the problem, the size and your passion for this issue
Module 2: Problem exploration
• Week 3: Build your lean canvas:
• Identify the various stakeholders
• Develop the customer value proposition
• Develop the key attributes of the solution
• Brief your mentor and validate the canvas entry and the stakeholders
• Week 4: Identify the exact size of your addressable market
• Research the size and location of the market
• Develop a marketing position of your potential solution
• Brief your mentor and validate the market and ensure your target is appropriate
Module 3:Develop the Business Model
• Week 5: What is your business model:
• Clearly identify the product you are proposing
• Commence building the MVP
• Commence the business model, ie how will the solution work, and business work
• Brief your mentor and validate the business model
• Commence build of prototype / MVP
• Week 6: Continue the development of the business model, add revenue
model
• Research the size and location of the market / potential for revenue
• Establish the proposed timeline for the launch of the product
• Establish the different product offerings
• Continue building the MVP
• Take feedback from your mentor
Module 4 : Revenue Modelling & Marketing
• Week 7: Revenue model:
• Clearly ensure you are not a one trick pony and have multiple revenue streams
• Identify in the customer / user value chain who is paying
• Identify the recurring revenue streams
• Identify other products over a 3 year period
• Validate the MVP against Revenue model
• Week 8: Marketing and Channel marketing
• Identify how you will get to the users and the paying customer
• How will promote your product
• Refine the MVP
• Which channels will you sell through
Module 5
• Week 9: Funding requirement:
• Develop your funding requirements
• Develop a 3 year profit and loss with funding stages
• Identify the Exit strategy
• Refine the MVP
• Explore the funding / investor organisations
• Week 10: Business Sustainability & one trick pony planning
• Identify alternative pivot points for your product
• Identify alternative markets for your product
• Develop the 3 year product innovation plan with a new product every 12 months
• Refine the MVP
Module 6
• Week 11: Preparing the Presentation for funding practice with mentors:
• Develop with your mentor/s the presentation for funding
• Identify any errors and create a video of the problems etc. to enhance the impact
• Practice with lecture and others to ensure a professional report
• Week 12: Present to Shark tank for funding
• All teams/individuals to present their work to a Shark Tank
• Shark Tank Members comprising of Torrens University senior management, external investors and
interested organisations
