To what extent do workplace interactions orientate more towards stances that are typically associated with women? Through your analysis, you will deconstruct the issues relating to gender, culture, and language in the workplace. You will also appraise how the construction of identities in workplace interactions is achieved by examining the various concepts related to the construction of texts in the workplace and discussing the multiple functions of language in the workplace.

Students’ Notes Requirements for the data collection: Number of participants: at least 3 participants, and not more than 5 participants Profile of participants: A group consisting of both male and female participants Setting: backstage Mode of data collection: audio or audio-visual recording Length of recording: at least 30 seconds, and not more than 2 minutes long You should seek permission from the participants before recording the interaction.

Please use the Consent Form found in the Appendix of this ECA booklet, and attach the forms with your participants’ signatures (either written or digital) in the Appendix of your ECA submission. Any missing consent form(s) will result in mark deduction. You are also required to transcribe the interaction and attach it in the Appendix of your ECA submission.
