A person who demonstrates competence in this unit must be able to provide evidence of the ability to implement and monitor integrated environmental and resource efficiency management policies and procedures within an organization. Critical Aspects It is essential that competence is demonstrated in the knowledge and skills defined in this unit.

These may include the ability to: monitor and investigate current resource usage develop plans to improve sustainability implement environmental improvements. Consistent performance should be demonstrated. For example, look to see that: environmental performance is routinely monitored and investigated areas for improvements are followed through and the implemented changes are in turn monitored and investigated. Please refer to the assignment guidelines.

This is a case study by you and should be written in the first person. E.g. purchasing of carbon credits expresses purchasing power through the selection of suppliers with improved environmental performance. e.g. purchasing renewable energy and materials with lower embedded carbon eliminates the use of hazardous and toxic materials increasing the reusability and recyclability of wastes/products.
