Task description
For the purpose of this assessment you are asked to research a designated critical theorist/pedagogue and
present your findings in a podcast interview conducted with another student.
What is required
The podcast interview provides the forum for you to share your individual research and the interview
discussion will need to include:
• An overview of the key figure that addresses their personal history, motivations and goals and
contributions to the field (15%)
• A summary of two publications or other works by this person (articulate areas of agreement,
disagreement and confusion that exist around these ideas for you) (20%)
• Clear connections to how their ideas connect to your own social identity and educational experiences
(as students and pre-service teacher) (20%)
• A critical question you would like to ask this person after researching them and a rationale for asking
this question (how will the answers to this question impact you as an individual and as an educator?)
(15%)
• An individual script of interview questions and responses (15%)
• A correctly formatted reference page (this will need to be uploaded to Moodle as an appendix, along
with the podcast link) (5%)
• You will also be assessed on the quality of your interview format and style (10%)
