Background to this assessment

New Zealand companies are a long way from international markets and have been seriously affected by disruption or challenges to their supply chains because of the Covid-19 pandemic, shipping delays, truck driver shortages and other reasons. These disruption or challenges have impacts on global and domestic supply chains, resulting in threats to companies’ supply chains but also opportunities across supply chains.

Task:

Write a report for the transportation and distribution managers of one New Zealand organisation in response to one disruption or challenge within their supply chain network. 

• In your report, address both the threats and opportunities in the supply chain caused byone disruption or challenge to the organization’s supply chains. 
• Evaluate the role of transportation and distribution management in meeting the challenges caused by the identified disruption or challenge and provide recommendations of relevant solutions and actions needed to meet identified threats and take advantage of any opportunities.
