Document guide

This document should be used as a marking guide for the assessor. Each activity has an assigned checklist; these will be in one of the two following formats:

Observation checklists

For activities which require observation, assessors have been provided with checklists which outline specific behaviours learners need to demonstrate. These checklists have been designed to cater for different types of observable activities and so vary between activities. Assessors will need to be satisfied that each of the listed action/behaviour has been demonstrated.

Non-observable checklists

For activities which do not require observation, assessors have been provided with checklists which allow them to determine if the relevant evidence has been provided. These checklists are not designed for individual activities but as a general tool to determine satisfactory performance via evidence submitted.

All checklists should be used to determine whether the learner has performed the activity to a satisfactory standard.

Assessor’s final checklist

At the end of the document, there is a final document for assessors to determine if the learner has successfully completed all activities. This checklist should only be complete once evidence for each activity has been submitted and/or observations have been carried out. Where learners have not successfully completed activities, assessors are required to provide information explaining why this decision has been made, and determine a date for reassessment where applicable.

Checklists
