From URS to PQ VOMP3011 P&ID-3: Clean-in-place (CIP)Sample Page
Step 3-1 Sketch a basic P&ID for a CIP skid with the following main equipment components (your P&ID sketch can be hand-drawn or done using a basic software drawing package): • Process water tank • Clean-in-place (CIP) Tank • Heat exchanger (Shell and tube) • CIP supply pump (from the bottom outlet of CIP and process water tanks and via the heat exchanger) • Detergent dosing pump • Vent filter for the process water tank • Inline sterilizing filter on the process air inlet
Include the following process and utility connections on your CIP skid P&ID 1. Process water supply to the CIP and process water tanks via distribution and return loop 2. Process air supply (via inline sterilizing filter) to process water tank 3. Clean steam supply to process water tank 4. Detergent supply via dosing pump into CIP tank 5. Plant steam supply and condensate return from to and from the heat exchanger 6. CIP (and process water) supply via CIP supply pump and heat exchanger to process 7. CIP return via CIP tank 8. Route to industrial waste via the bottom outlets of CIP and process water tanks, and from CIP return bypassing CIP tank
Step 3-2 List the primary performance requirements associated with the CIP skid. Write a sentence or two to expand on each of your performance requirements.
