This section should contain a survey of pertinent background literature (refer to 20-30 references), together with a statement of the aims and methodology of the project. You should endeavor to demonstrate in this section that you have mastered the theoretical background of your topic. The section should end with a statement of what you had originally intended to do at the start of the project. It is important that your introduction is clear and concise. Only quote papers that are directly relevant to your work.
