Practical activityGo to a store in your local area that you may take an interest in or one that you work for. Have a chat to a staff member about what training they needed to undertake in order to work effectively in this store.
What was their job role and what training was required?
Who trained them and do they feel they learned everything they needed to or are there things they have to guess as they were never taught how to do them effectively?
What further staff training would you implement if you were the manager of the store? Why?

Research Research a job role that you’re interested in and have a think about the training, development and learning that may be required in order to successfully carry out this job.
What new skills might you need to learn and what would be an effective way to learn these?
What off-the-job and on-the-job training methods could be utilised in order for you to gain further knowledge on this job role? How would these help?
What role could technology play in assisting with this training?
