1. Foreword
Preparing for Success Self -Development and Responsibility (PSSDR)
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Preparing for Success Self -Development and Responsibility
(PSSDR) module and I wish you great success with your studies at London School of Science and Technology.
This module enables students to begin developing the Bucks Graduate Attributes associated with leadership,
self-development, social and ethical awareness and responsibility, which are essential for success in higher
education and in the world of work. In addition, preparing for Success Self -Development and Responsibility
(PSSDR) will give students an understanding and knowledge of wide range of concepts and techniques that will
support student’s ethical and social awareness and employability needs and skills in both locally and
internationally.
The module aims to prepare students for successful progression from Foundation Level to Level 4 academic
study and beyond, while enabling them to learn about and prepare themselves for employment in the twentyfirst century through inquiry based learning, problem solving and critical and creative thinking.
The module delivery is centered on weekly timetable of three (3) hours lecture and three (3) hours of tutorial, which
will be provided by lecturers. This means that in every week, there will be three (3) hour lecture for the module
with every campus having their own lecturers to deliver the module and there will be another three (3) hour tutorial
session.
Students will be given all the necessary resource and support in order to carry out the required tasks in relation
to their semester’s assignment. This is because students will find out that all lecturers are approachable, friendly,
and professional and have all the necessary experience to support your learning in order to achieve greatsuccess.
The teaching and assessment of the module is strongly based on the learning outcome of the module therefore,
lecturers and students should be familiar with all the learning outcome of Preparing for Success Self -Development
and Responsibility (PSSDR). Two coursework will be used to assess the module and students will achieve the
learning outcome of the module by successfully completing the two coursework.
It is important to stress that successful completion of the module involves a critical review of what it means to be
a learner as you seek to continue your own academic and professional development and responsibilities.
Once again all the best for the Preparing for Success Self -Development and Responsibility (PSSDR) module.
