Reflect on one clinical situation that you experienced related to your specific area of practice.

The clinical situation that students can reflect upon will include one theme from the following list:

Meeting the educational needs of the patients

Functioning as a nurse in a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Communication problems with colleagues/clients/clients’ families

Any clinical issues e.g., Bullying at workplace, staff burnout

Ethical dilemmas e.g., Cosmetic surgery, surrogacy

Students need to identify their personal and professional parameters for the way they have handled the situation that evolved from their clinical practice

Reflect on personal and professional aspects and identify the learning points by using Gibb’s or John’s, or Kolb’s model

Students should raise some suggestions/recommendations at the end that resulted from analysing their reflection.

Students will need to allocate time to reflect on their experiences in practice, and explore their personal thoughts, feelings, and emotions, focusing on both positive and negative aspects of the experience.
