The presentation is the first part of the group project- In the presentation, you report the project findings and an analysis of the project group dynamics. Each group (Max 5 people) will have 15 minutes for their presentation. All members of the group are expected to take part in the presentation. Assessment 4 is the second component of the group work and is a professionally written report of your group”s findings and recommendations.

You will need to select an organisation and interview a (Manager, Human Resources, People and Culture, Recruiter, CEO, etc.) You may interview more than one person. You may choose the manager from your own network. You will be required to interview the manager to determine their roles and responsibilities and investigate how they have changed due to internal and external changes to the organisation”s environment. You may need to interview from more than one organisation if you do not get sufficent information.

The second part of this task is to determine the skills that this particular organisation is looking for when employing new employees or promoting existing staff. Your group should include both technical and non-technical skills in your discussions. You should also address how these findings are relevant to yourselves as Masters Students and what recommendations you would make to graduates. Other valuable sources for information may be the Human Resources department”s recruitment staff, line managers, or recent graduates working in the organisation.
The Research Project should contain the following information:

1. A detailed analysis of the roles and responsibilities of the manager you have interviewed. You will need to understand the industry before the interview to assist with the interview questions” design.

2. How have the roles in the organisation evolved?

3. The Impact of internal and external environment. You will need to define the external environment from the Academic literature. Define the internal and external environment and then link directly to your specific organisation. Ensure that you ask the manager questions relating to internal changes and the manager”s role in these changes.

4. What are the skills required of employees? Investigate both the Soft and Hard skills required.

5. A summation of how the information obtained can be used to advance your professional career.
