Case Study: Kaiser Permanente – Adopting SAFe to Build the Future of Healthcare
Acknowledgment:
K. Powelson and S. Archer, “Kaiser Permanente – Adopting SAFe to Build the Future of Healthcare:
Reimagined Technology and Clinical Workflows Transform Home Care for Members”, 2021 Global SAFe
Summit, October 2021 [Online]. Available: https://scaledagile.com/videos/kaiser-permanente-buildsthe-future-of-healthcare-with-safe/. [Accessed: July 01, 2023].
For this trimester, the subject of Network Project Management in both assignments 1 and 2 will center around
the healthcare industry with a focus on automation, networking, IoT, or ICT. Consequently, it is advisable to
commence by studying an illustrative project in this field, which can be accessed via the provided video link.
The aim of this assignment is to understand the stakeholder involved and examine the tangible
implementations of SAFe (Scale Agile Framework) within real-world industries, specifically in the IT healthcare
sector.
In the given video, Agile coach Steven Archer and IT leader Kari Powelson share their insights on implementing
the SAFe in the healthcare industry, particularly in the aged care sector. They will elaborate on the
collaborative efforts of their care delivery technology services and clinical operations development teams to
create innovative software and workflows. Their ultimate goal was to showcase that Kaiser Permanente’s careat-home initiative symbolises the future of healthcare, delivering a positive experience for both members and
clinicians.
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
