LLSC generates revenue from government, corporate and private grants and donations. It also seeks donations of clothing, books and other household items. Donated items are sorted. The ‘usable’ items are sold via the LLSC four retail shopfront stores plus online. A large number of the donated books are also sold via regular ‘Book Fairs’ each year. The ‘unusable’ donations are taken to the tip.

LLSC has a few paid employees but relies upon numerous unpaid volunteer staff.
