ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES
PART A: PREPARATION & GUIDE
Make sure you are familiar with the organisation you are basing this assessment on and have read through the
necessary background information.
For the case study business, this is all of the documents included in the Simulation Pack.
If it’s your own business or a business where you are working or are familiar with, have your business or case
study (and supporting documentation/evaluation data as mentioned in the previous page) approved by your
assessor.
Read through the requirements of Section 2 of your Project Portfolio, answer all questions, provide all the
required information and attach all required documents as listed above under ‘What do I need to submit
?”.
PART B: COMPLETE SECTION 1 OF YOUR PROJECT PORTFOLIO
Complete Section 2 of your Project Portfolio. To do this, you must:
1. assess the risks associated with the changes identified in Section 1 of your Project Portfolio (Note:
include at least one barrier in your organisation to change and relevant mitigation strategies).
2. assign resources to the required changes/opportunities.
3. conduct a cost-benefit analysis for the change/opportunity that was assigned the highest priority
4. develop a written change management project plan, including:
a. a description of the required changes/opportunities
b. resource requirements
c. risk management
d. recommendations for timelines.
5. obtain approval (via email) of your change management project plan from any relevant managers

1. Attach proof of your written change management project plan to this section of your portfolio.
As you write your change management project plan, use clear and precise language to suit the
audience and purpose.

communicate the required changes and opportunities

You may use any communication tool (e.g. email, online survey etc) to receive input from personnel. You
may need to prepare/perform multiple communications (e.g. email and online survey, etc) depending on
the personnel you are communicating to.

PART D: DEVELOP A COMMUNICATION/EDUCATION PLAN

Continue completing Section 2 of your Project Portfolio. To do this, you need to:

Develop a communication/education plan that:
a. communicates/educates relevant stakeholders about the changes
b. promotes the benefits of organisational change.
Note: You may use the template provided in the project portfolio or create a similar table using MS
Word format and attached to your project portfolio

Arrange and manage the delivery of your communication/education plan.
Note: Attach proof of how you arranged and managed the activities required to deliver your
communication plan in your project portfolio.
