Assessment Guidelines for Student:
Conditions of assessment:
For this Assessment you are required to follow the instructions provided under Tasks to be completed by the student and submit your response by the date advised to your Assessor.
Your assessor will advise you the Dates and timing for this assessment as per the timetable.
Your evidence submitted for this Assessment Task will be graded as either S – Satisfactory or NS – Not Satisfactory. Your Assessor will provide you with feedback.
If the evidence is graded as NS – Not Satisfactory you will be required to re-submit the evidence. In this case you will be provided with clear and constructive feedback based on the assessment decision so that you can improve your skills / knowledge prior to reassessment.
If you require an allowable adjustment to this assessment procedure you should discuss this with your assessor
If you are dissatisfied with an assessment decision you should make an appeal to NTCA in writing no longer than 10 days following advice of the assessment decision

Tasks to be completed by the student
This assessment consists of Three tasks 1,2,3,4 and 5
Task 1
You are required to develop workplace health and safety procedures for the following situations:
Evacuation of staff and customers
Handling chemicals and hazardous substances
Hazard identification and reporting
And conduct a risk assessment for NTCA premises and identify risks related to above mentioned workplace health and safety procedures developed by you.
Task 2
using the assessment matrix completed in task 1 modify the workplace health and safety procedures developed by you and complete Action plan template
Task 3
You are required to conduct a team meeting to communicate workplace health and safety procedures modified by you in task 2. For the meeting you are required to prepare and distribute the meeting agenda and PowerPoint presentation to the team (your assessor will allocate students as team members for this task. The meeting should cover the following:
• Explanation of new WHS procedures.
• Any changes to WHS policies as a result of this.
• Any changes to hazard identification, risk assessment or reporting.
• Ask for input from team members about the new WHS procedures.
• Outline how the team’s ideas can be applied to the new WHS procedures.
• Outline when and how the new procedures will be rolled out to all team members.
• Explanation of how the new procedures comply with WHS legislation or hospitality industry safety codes of practice/standards.
• Explanation of where documents of the new procedures can be accessed.
• Explanation of any training that will be provided to team members.
Task 4
you are required to implement and monitor three WHS procedures discussed in the meeting as part of task 3. The implementation will occur as role play played by you and the team members. During the roleplay you should:
Report on issues of non-compliance with the new WHS procedures and work health and safety legislation, procedures and safe work practices.
Document any action you intend to take as a result of your observations (hazards identified through staff processes, who you will notify or consult with, training needs identified, reports to be completed, etc.)
Briefly comment on the effectiveness of existing procedures in maintaining the health, safety and security of personnel and any recommendations for change.

Based on the implementation and monitoring in task 4 complete the training needs analysis template and coordinate training
