GRADEMARK REPORT
GENERAL COMMENTS
Instructor
Much feedback and many suggestions were provided
in the working document, hence fewer in-text
comments
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING (20%) –
14.6% (73%)
tile is missing on the cover page (why?)
Both rather well
demonstrated
Well documented (non-mandatory) general
introduction; key terms and aspects addressed;
research problem stated, first part should be more
factual and documented as well like the secondary
part, knowledge gap could be better stated, rationale
indicated briefly; aim should be better articulated,
objectives ordered and a couple more added,
objectives are explained to some extent: The RQ
should be divided into sub-Q; Hs listed ; mostly well
articulated; but not further addressed; but
conceptual
framework illustrated (good); knowledge
and understanding also demonstrated well in
extensive literature review, as well as in the
methodological section
APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE (30%) – 24.6%
(82%)
Very well applied, literature review is very thorough,
well structured, with numerous thematic subsections;
literature gap is extensively documented: he ext is well
paraphrased in section 2;: the theoretical
framework/model is also well discussed, a table
included; methodological knowledge also well applied
ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION/ORIGINALITY &
CRITICALITY
EVALUATION of
applicable research design, assessment of ethical
(40%) – 32.8% (82%)

some originality and criticality demonstrated;
analysis of research design and application to own
proposed study rather successful – course
materials well utilised, alternatives in research
design evaluated, all layers of the onion addressed
with minor inaccuracies, overall purpose
discussed; sampling and primary target
population (in the incorrect order) well discussed,
more attention should be paid to secondary units
of analysis as secondary data is also crucial to the
topic at hand; survey design addressed to a
certain extent, no so the type of secondary data –
to be improved later;
data analysis methods could be better indicated,
but some idea provided; reliability and validity
separately and very well addressed for this stage
in the project, scope delineated, some
limitations anticipated;
ethical issues also rather
comprehensively addressed – the textbook was used
properly
COMMUNICATION AND
PRESENTATION & REFERENCING STYLE (10%) –
8.3% (83%)
Title is missing, on the cover page, appears before
section 1, the topic was discussed extensively with
the lecturer/supervisor; a ver detailed and correct
ToC; word count considerably exceeded, the RP is
very comprehensive, all sections well addressed
(apart from 3.4 – analysis methods) – a stronger
submission than some IPs!, feasibility of the
proposed study established; only secondary data
and analysis could be more comprehensively
addressed; three figures inserted and captioned
(but captions placed above and not below the
figures); minor improvements in the specification
of task in Fig. 3 is required; research project
resources should also be named ; exemplary
questionnaire Qs in Appendix, constructs
identified; references in the required style – well
formatted, generated individually: some minor
lexical and grammatical inaccuracies, the future
tense should be more consistently used when
required
Well done!
Overall mark: (80%) 80.3%
