Due Date: Week 12 in face-to-face class (or online class)

This assessment will run online for both face-to-face and online students during your
normal class time in Week 12.
Your Task
You are required to:
1. Complete each of the graph database queries provided in the CQL script file.
2. Prepare a team presentation to explain and summarise the business insights found
from executing the CQL scripts and the corresponding data visualisations.
Submitting results
Each team will be given 30 min during class time to finalise the presentation.
5 minutes of presentation time will occur in class.
Upload your team’s presentation to the portal at the end of the in-class team
presentation.
The individual report is to be submitted 72 hours after the end of the in-class team
presentation.

Assessment Description
The assessment is divided into
o 20 marks for group work on theory and presentations (30 min preparation, 1 hour for all 5 min
group presentations of slides)
o 10 marks for individual work using neo4j (1.5 hours) and report (72 hours, take home)
Business Problem: Suppose that you are an analyst for the department of aviation. You have been
provided with data from Australian airports, such as the number of flights in and out of cities, flight times
and delays. With this in mind,
Part A: Teamwork Presentation (20 Marks)
1. Form groups of 3 or 4 students and chose a team leader.
a. Notes: Your lecturer would have provided the Neo4j script 7 days prior to the date of
presentation.
2. Access the PowerPoint slide instructions provided by your lecturer and work through the
business problem as described.
3. Create at least 5 slides to present your team’s findings.
4. Your leader will submit your group slides on MyKBS at the end of the 30 minutes.
Part B: Individual Report (600 words) (10 Marks)
As an individual, perform some research and provide answers to the following:
How do graph databases and the format of the data used by them differ from traditional SQL
databases?
Discuss two industry applications of graph databases.
List and briefly explain one challenge in relation to using graph databases to explore patterns
and relationships.
Please be online with your camera during these tasks otherwise you may be penalized.
Submit your draft (at the end of class) and report to Turnitin (72 hours after
class) and submit group slides through MyKBS during class time.
