Method of assessment: Critical Evaluation & Self-analysis
Task: A critical evaluation of the planning and implementation of a policy change in
your organisation or a national or international policy, and self-analysis of
personal leadership style and skills.

Feedback: | For 1st attempt assessments, feedback will normally be provided 20 working days after the point of submission. |
For 2nd/3rd attempts (or deferred attempts), feedback will normally be provided 15
working days after the point of submission.
Grading: The assessment will be assessed against the marking criteria.
Length: 4,000 words.
It is permissible to exceed the stated word limit by up to 10%, without penalty.
Assignments which exceed these limits are liable to be penalised by the
deduction of 5 marks per 1000 words excess (e.g. If a 1000 word assignment, 5
marks off for 1101-2000 words, 10 marks off for 2101-3100 words, and so on).
Specific Guidelines:
A good assignment would include:
• Utilising a leadership framework and toolkits students will conduct a self-analysis of their
personal leadership style and skills. Students are advised to use three tools in order that
the results can be analysed and triangulated and used in the development of a SWOT
analysis, to be included as an appendix.
• Students will need to critically evaluate the strengths and limitations of their leadership
style and skills in relation to theories and models of leadership in leading change, team
working and project management at a strategic level.

• Construct an action plan of their personal leadership areas for development, to be
included as an appendix.
• Students will need to identify the planning and implementation of a policy change
within their organisation alternatively students could examine a national or
international policy or guidance.
• Students will need to be able to critically appraise the process of leadership and
implementation of policy change at a strategic level and organisational level in relation
to the strategies for successful management of change.
• Utilising a framework students will Interpret and critically evaluate the provenance of
the policy development at national and international levels with particular reference to
the human dimensions of change.
• Students should demonstrate their understanding of how to lead and create
partnerships.
• Use the required APA referencing format.
