Innovation Report (report writing)

The Innovation Report builds on the group project by identifying a solution for the challenge or problem

you identified in the previous assessment *(PREVIOUS ASSIGNMENT ATTACHED) and how the focal organisation will be able to deliver its revised value proposition. Make sure you include a discussion on this problem/organisational challenge and value proposition in your introduction to the report. Your introduction should also discuss the focal organisation’s consumer approach. This assessment brings together the topics covered during the trimester.

You will demonstrate how your proposed solution will be implemented by your focal organisation through a revised business model that is different to the organisation’s original starting point. You will need to describe how the model differs from the original one and how and why it will benefit the focal organisation.

(ENSURE ALL BELOW AREAS ARE COVERED IN THE REPORT)

Business Model Discussion

What is a business model and what is its purpose for any organisation?

Present the current business model that reflects People Solutions’ current business?

Present the new business model to complement the virtual assessment centre testing service (some elements of the current business model you might want to keep, so that’s ok)

How does the new business model address the challenges and deliver the new value proposition you created?

Focus first on demand-side strategy and value creation and detail how your new business model benefits People Solutions from:

A new value proposition, new customer relationships they should build, new customer segments (if any) and new channels to market to consider. Are there any new revenue streams you’ve identified and why?

Next, turn the focus on value capture and detail how your new business model benefits People Solutions through:

The key resources the business relies upon and which new ones should they develop,

Key activities and new ones they should undertake

Key partners they rely upon and the new ones they need to collaborate with to help capture more value

IP protection strategies to consider to help protect value captured

Costs, especially new ones, to complement the new business model

SWOT and PESTEL Analysis (use diagrams and graphical display)

Collaboration Strategies

What collaboration strategies do People Solutions currently have?

Which ones are strategic alliances?

Any joint venture arrangements?

Any supplier relations?

Any licensing arrangements?

Any outsourcing arrangements?

What collaborations might People Solutions need in the future?

Consider the need to develop future resources and activities. Perhaps People Solutions needs to collaborate with another firm to develop these?

Intellectual Property (IP) Protection

What IP protection strategies are People Solutions currently using and is Amy Cooper using the right approach? Why?

What additional IP protection strategies should People Solutions consider?

What benefits would the IP strategies bring People Solutions ?

Are there any disadvantages associated with these strategies?

References

The word length for this assessment is 2,500 words (+/- 10%) regardless of the number of students in your group. You are expected to cite at least fifteen (15) scholar references (not older than 2019), using Chicago Referencing, .

You will provide clear recommendations that are well founded calls to action clearly linked to the rest of the report.

You should aim to create something of a professional standard of presentation report which you would be proud to show to the organisation, since it is the intention for all good reports to be made available to the business.

Remember,

you are not providing a solution to the redefined organisational challenge in this assessment but instead discussing the effectiveness of the design thinking techniques in getting you to understand more deeply the key issues the focal organisation is facing. This assignment also requires you to reflect on how design thinking links with strategy.
