This is an open-book exercise that is similar to but also different from Test 1. Please read the instructions carefully.

Answer 2 (you choose which ones). Please answer each chosen question with 300(+) words. Include a word count in parenthesis at the end of each answer.

For this assignment, you will choose 2 of the broader topics we examined during the second half of the semester and prepare a 300(+) word statement for each one, articulating (both in your own words and with the help of quotations from course materials) what you understand to be some of the key issues/ideas at stake in the conversation. Please quote from at least 1-2 sources (drawn from course materials) for each answer. (If you find an additional “outside” source that you love, you’re welcome to introduce/cite that, too—but that’s not required.)

Your imagined audience is an Intro. Women’s Studies class that hasn’t covered these topics yet; in other words, I want you to imagine that you are preparing a 300(+)word talk introducing your chosen topic to a WS 200 class. I want your work to reflect sound engagement with the course materials. You can also, of course, draw from your notes and from what we’ve said in class. You can include brief examples from your own life to help illustrate ideas, but make sure to demonstrate comprehension of specific ideas from course topics/materials.

Class and/or Women’s Work

You will be graded on clarity; specificity; and incorporation of at least 1 source drawn from relevant course materials per answer (refer to calendar of readings in syllabus; any Ted Talks we watched or articles I emailed to you are also fair game).

Basically, I want you to take ownership of some materials in a way that only “teaching” them can make you do. You don’t have to try to encompass everything. Just identify some core issues/ideas within a particular topic and explain them as best you can.
