HRMT 20024 – Assessment 3 (Report) – Task Description
Report on current human resource management challenges in the Australian Retail or Financial
sector (pick only one sector)

Due date Week 12 Friday (2 June 2023) 11:45 pm AEST
Any requests for extension must be submitted through the CQU system at least 48
hours prior to the due date, with relevant supporting documents.
Late submissions without approval will result in a penalty of 5% (‐2.25 marks) per
day.
Weighting 45%
Length 2,500 words ± 10% (excluding references and Appendix)

Purpose You are expected to ‘Review the HRM Literature’ for Assessment 2, and that
material should be used towards Assessment 3, including the feedback received.
Assessment 3 provides you the opportunity to apply your learning to a particular
industry sector or problem, and tailor your argument to that sector’s specific
challenges.
This assessment has been designed to enhance your research, analysis, critical
thinking and written communication skills, particularly in the areas of argument
development and report writing.

Assessment task This assessment requires you to write a report on current human resource
management challenges in the Australian context
in any one of the two sectors
(
Retail or Financial sector).
When identifying these challenges, you are expected to refer to at least 3-5 topics/
themes we discussed during Weeks 1 to 12.
Please refer to
Assessment 3 – Template for further understanding of ways you can
link your weekly topics/themes to this assessment.
Your report structure is provided in a template, and includes:
Executive summary
Table of contents
Introduction
Sector context
Current human resource management challenges for the chosen sector
in Australia
Conclusion and recommendations
References
Your report should refer to
at least eight (8) relevant peer‐reviewed journal
articles
including the articles presented in your Assessment 2 (Annotated
Bibliography).
Specific evidence related to Australian‐context and the chosen sector can come from
other references such as books, conference papers, book chapters,
magazines and news articles. However, these will NOT be counted as part of the 8
peer‐reviewed journal articles mentioned above.
Important: Plagiarism will be reported to the Academic Integrity Unit and may
result in a “zero” mark.

 

Referencing American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition
Submitting Report must be submitted through the Moodle site. No email submissions will be
accepted. All assessments submitted electronically through Moodle must be through
the Student Portal
http://my.cqu.edu.au. Failure to submit electronically will be taken
as a failure to submit and therefore a zero (0) score will apply to the specific
assessment.
Plagiarism Copy detection software (Turnitin) is used in this course and work found in contravention
of the copying and plagiarism rules will be investigated.
Penalties apply in the case of proven instances of copying, plagiarism and academic
dishonesty.
