While the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is acknowledged by many contemporary organisations, translating EDI principles into practice is complex.  Discuss the means, benefits and challenges of implementing EDI in the workplace.  Include two industry/organisational settings as examples, analysing any occupational segregation and/or inequities.

To frame your answer address each of the following tasks:

  1. Analyse occupational segregation and/or potential inequalities experienced by individuals and/or groups with reference to two industry/organisational settings;
  2. Discuss the various means of implementing EDI principles, particularly in relation to these settings (this necessarily involves explanation of relevant legislative principles);
  3. Evaluate the benefits and challenges associated with implementation.

Students are expected to take a holistic approach to this assessment and utilise the knowledge and understanding gained from across the entire module, i.e. do not rely on only one topic to inform your response.
