BUS507 Global Market and Sustainability Strategy
Assessment 2
Analysing Key Environmental Factors Influencing the
Marketing of Environmentally Sustainable Products in
Global Markets
Value: 20%
Due Date: Week 5 – Midnight Thursday, 6 April 2023
Length: 1,000 words
Assessment Description
The world is facing serious environmental problems, including air pollution, depletion of natural
resources and climate change. Consumers are increasingly expecting firms to engage in environmentally
sustainable practices. Thus, many multinational companies seek to develop and promote
environmentally sustainable products (also known as green products, eco-friendly products, or
environmentally responsible products) that minimise their impact on the ecosystem. Examples of such
products are electric vehicles, energy efficient products, renewable energy, organic food and recycled
bags.
The purpose of this assessment is to start you thinking as a global sustainable marketer. An important
task of any global marketer is to analyse the global marketing environment, which includes the global
economic, global trade, technological, social, cultural, political and legal environments. In this
assessment, you are required to choose three (3) of these environments, and then write an essay that
discusses and analyses how the selected environments affect the marketing of a specific green product
category, i.e., energy efficient products, in global markets. Notably, energy efficient products use less
energy than conventional products to achieve the same level of performance, thus, cutting energy bills
and reducing pollution.
Structure and Specific Tasks
The structure of the essay should be as follows:
Title: Provide a captivating title that attracts readers.
Table of Contents: Include section titles with their commencing page numbers

impact of key factors/forces/trends on the marketing of energy efficient products. Your
discussion and analysis need to be supported by secondary sources (e.g., journal articles,
statistical data, industry and market reports). You can present personal experience examples
where relevant.
Conclusion: Summarise the key findings of your essay.
References: Provide references to any secondary sources used, following CDU Harvard or APA
