Unit Name – Advanced Finance for Business Managers

Feedback from ATHE

LO1 The learner work for LO1 is minimal and is borderline in meeting the LO at the standards.

LO2 The AC for LO2 requires the learner to ‘Evaluate the impact of expected cash flow on management decision making’. The learner provided a list of 4 bullet points which did not demonstrate evaluation. There was no reference to the case study cash flow which would have helped the learner demonstrate understanding. At L5, this is insufficient to meet LO2.

LO3 The learner considers only 2 of the 3 assignment decisions. The work is very minimal and only just meets the standard for the LO.

LO4 In LO4, the learner has marginally met the standards. The work would have benefitted from a greater depth of analysis and evaluation.

LO5 For AC 5.2, the command verb is ‘discuss’ but the learner provided a list of 4 bullet points which did not offer a discussion. However, the LO requires the learner to ‘be able to assess the financial performance and stability of a

Business’ and the learner did briefly analyse the financial position of Mattel to meet the LO, albeit marginally.

The learner will need to resubmit LO2 for this unit.

Unit Name – Business Ethics

Feedback from ATHE

The learner work for LOs 1 – 3 is marginal in meeting the standards required by the AC. For example, in AC 1.3 the learner considers employee use of social media, but then lists a further four issues. These four issues should have been developed to secure the AC more effectively.

In LO4 AC 4.1, the learner references British Airways and Pfizer, but does not demonstrate that ethical issues for either have been researched. AC 4.2 requires learners to report on how the business in AC 4.1 could improve the ethics of their operations whilst meeting objectives and ensuring good employer/employee relationships. The learner has not done this. Instead, a brief method to improve processes is given with no reference to ethics. As a result, LO4 cannot be awarded.

The similarity index was 7% with no evidence of malpractice.

The learner will need to resubmit LO4 for this unit.
