If you are completing this based on a workplace, this will be for two projects of your choice.
Vocational education and training is all about gaining and developing practical skills that are industry relevant and that can help you to succeed in your chosen career. For this reason, basing your project on real relationships with classmates or work colleagues will mean that you are applying your knowledge and skills in a relevant, practical and meaningful way!
You will be collecting evidence for this unit in a Project Portfolio. The steps you need to take are outlined below. Before you begin, complete page 4 of your Project Portfolio. |
Preparation.
You are required to plan for and prepare to conduct two detailed designs of motorways and interchanges. This involves:
Accessing the requirements for the work, including all relevant documentation and legislation and policies and procedures. Interpreting the requirements for each design based on a review of requirements and documentation. Preparing design plans, including a risk assessment. Complete Section 1 of your Project Portfolio. The Project Portfolio includes separate sections for you to document your work in relation to Project 1 and Project 2. You will also use the template Detailed design of motorways and interchanges Plan template. |
Detailed design.
You are required to carry out the detailed design for both motorways and interchanges projects. This involves:
Interpreting and analysing data as relevant to each project. Assessing design options. Develop a detailed design for each project as per the job requirements and your design plan. Work on Section 2 of your Project Portfolio. The Project Portfolio includes separate sections for you to document your work in relation to Project 1 and Project 2.
|
Presentation.
-
You are now required to present your work to your team as per the above instructions. During your presentation, your assessor will be looking to see that you have reviewed the designs of each motorways and interchanges with the team, provided an update on progress and obtained approval for your designs.
Your assessor will also confirm that you use terminology as relevant to motorways and interchanges design and listening and questioning techniques.
Finalise motorways and interchanges design process.
You are required to finalise the motorways and interchanges design process. This involves:
