Customer and Stakeholders:
Mama Mia is the internal stakeholder and customer for the project and health department is the external stakeholder for this project.
Project Objective:
As currently Mama Mia`s bakery is a small operation and entire operation of the bakery depends on the paper documents and telephone. With the expansion of the bakery, workload will also increase and a better and an efficient system is required to manage the workload in a timely manner. The objective of this project is to design an IT system for the point of sale, inventory, and bookkeeping purposes. After the expansion, Mama Mia`s bakery will have new business strategies to cope with the business requirements and customer satisfaction. This new project will be helpful in achieving these business strategies by providing mobile excess between the bakery and health department. A software operating system will give Mama Mia access to the health department website. An account can be created with the health department for Mama`s bakery and sandwich shop. All the related information and documents can be stored in the software by using RAM. This project will also address the issues of customer access to the Mama Mia`s products and services. An online website for Mama Mia `s bakery and sandwich shop will allow customers to have access to the menu. This project will also allow the customers to place online orders by suggesting the best restaurant POS system for Mama Mia` bakery and sandwich shop. This system will allow the customers to place their orders online and will accept debit and credit card payments. The success of this project will have the following results: Will make the ordering process easier Efficient customer and order management Monitoring expenses incurred in real-time Free and cheap marketing Better customers data The convenience of mobile ordering Stay ahead of the competition Mobile connection with the external stakeholders (Journal Online, 2020) |
Assumptions
Following are some of the assumptions made in the decision to charter this project: Installation of an IT system will assure the success of Mama Mia expansion project by addition of Software operating system Restaurant POS system Improved store management system Efficient and improved customer service IT expert will develop a LAN for the successful IT system implementation |
Project Scope
Scope of the Project Scope of the Project defines functions and features needed to accomplish the project. In this case, the statement should provide the information needed to integrate IT technology in Mamma Mia’s bakery store. The details provided should ensure the project’s success and realization of the end project that would fit stakeholders’ expectations. The following is the scope statement for the project. Objectives: The project will start once the team presents the paperwork plan to Mamma Mia and she agrees with the plan. The team will analyze the IT installation project and document the project management’s documented requirements in the paperwork. The documentation will carry project estimates for the cost and resources required. It will also list all the risks involved in the project. Finally, the paperwork will give project milestones, helping determine the project’s expected finish dates. End Product: Per Mamma Mia’s desires, the IT system installed will sufficiently serve in sales, bookkeeping, and inventory purposes. It will offer connections between the firm and its suppliers. The system should connect with local area networks. Project Justification: Installation of an IT system into the business will be an essential step. First, it will enhance innovation among the employees (Gunasekaran & Papadopoulos, 2017). It will also enhance data storage, which will be essential in businesses’ future market plans (Gunasekaran & Papadopoulos, 2017). These qualities increase the business’s effectiveness, enhance its quality, value, and build on the bakery’s productivity. Assumptions: An IT expert team will carry out the project. Mamma Mia’s bakery staff will also work closely with the team to offer essential information to enhance the end products’ value. Finally, it is assumed that the system will also connect with a local area network. Constraints: Additional requests from Mamma Mia’s bakery and staff will affect a project schedule. The cost estimates provided must not be altered as this will affect the system’s operations. There is no local area network available, and so the team must create one. |
Project Inclusions and Exclusions: The IS system will include the installation of computer hardware and software, develop a LAN, and create databases and data warehouses. The only exclusion is human resources and procedures, which the bakery staff will provide in this case. |
