Part 1: Limitations and solutions
For this part of the assessment, you need to use critical thinking concepts to develop solutions to two workplace limitations/problems. Outline your responses in the table below. Steps to take include:
- Analyse workplace practices and identify two workplace limitations
- Source information for solutions
- Develop solutions for the two limitations you identified
- Describe two critical thinking concepts
1.1 Analyse workplace practices and identify two workplace limitations
Summarise two workplace limitations you have identified. Use two different methods to find inefficiencies, limitations, or problems (for example, talk to stakeholders, look at numerical data or ask a set of questions).

- Source information for solutions
Research relevant emerging technologies and practices work to identify possible solutions to the issues. Your research sources must be from a range of reputable and verified sources. Complete the table below with your responses.
- create at least five questions to ask which will guide your research and analysis
- note down the source you consulted for the information
- evaluate the information received.

- Develop solutions to the two limitations you identified
Using critical thinking concepts, generate and analyse two to four alternative solutions for workplace inefficiency, limitation or problem.
- describe each alternative solution in detail (for example, using a flow chart, words, or a series of pictures)
- use numerical data, for example, use the data from the case study
- describe the success criteria that you will use to evaluate the solutions.

Success criteria that you will use to evaluate the solutions.
To evaluate the success of the solutions generated using design thinking and root cause analysis, it is important to establish clear success criteria. The success criteria should align with the objectives of the solutions and be measurable to determine if the solutions have been effective in addressing workplace limitations. Some potential success criteria that could be used to evaluate the solutions include:
Effectiveness: This refers to the extent to which the solutions have successfully addressed workplace limitations. Success criteria could include measures such as reduction in errors or defects, increased efficiency, improved quality, or increased customer satisfaction.
Feasibility: This refers to the practicality of implementing the solutions in the workplace. Success criteria could include measures such as cost-effectiveness, ease of implementation, and scalability.
Sustainability: This refers to the ability of the solutions to continue delivering benefits over the long term. Success criteria could include measures such as maintenance costs, environmental impact, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
User satisfaction: This refers to the degree to which the solutions meet the needs and preferences of the stakeholders involved. Success criteria could include measures such as user adoption rates, feedback from users, and user satisfaction surveys.
Return on investment: This refers to the financial benefits generated by the solutions compared to the costs of implementing them. Success criteria could include measures such as return on investment, cost savings, and revenue growth.
By establishing clear success criteria, it is possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the solutions generated through design thinking and root cause analysis. This can help ensure that the solutions are meeting the objectives of the organization and providing tangible benefits to the workplace
- Describe two critical thinking concepts
Compare and contrast two critical thinking concepts/approaches that you used to find solutions to workplace limitations. Include descriptions of the key features/characteristics of the concepts/approaches.

Part 2: Develop a proposal

You must write clearly and ensure that the content, format, and tone are appropriate to your audience to achieve its purpose. Your proposal needs to cover the following in the report template below:
Overview
Summarise the workplace limitation.
Identify and justify your solution
Describe your chosen solution for the workplace inefficiency, limitation, or problem.
- Why did you choose it?
- How does it meet the legislation and organisational policy requirements?
- Identify the Solutions and analyse their Advantages and Disadvantages, opportunities, and threats.
Decision-making framework
Describe how you used a decision-making framework, according to organisational policies and procedures, in developing your proposal
- Which framework did you use?
- What were the steps you took?
Briefly discuss how you implemented the decision-making framework.
Legislation and organisational requirements
Develop a Legislative requirement for the organisation.
