Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to help the student collaborate with their peers while using course topics. The student will also have an opportunity to develop informed opinion while identifying personal biases. Course outcomes: This assignment enables the student to meet the following course outcomes.

Discussion (Question):

Research online and find a recent medical error that made the news. Answer the following questions.

What happened in the incident?

Who was involved?

What were the ramifications for the patient and/or staff?

Reflect on the incident and think about some causes and possible interventions that could have prevented the error.
