BSBLDR602 Provide Leadership Across the Organisation
UNIT DESCRIPTION
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate senior leadership behaviour and
personal and professional competence. Business ethics are also addressed in this unit.
It applies to individuals who have a role in inspiring and motivating others to achieve organisational goals
and to model professionalism in their organisation and industry. Leadership is seen in the context of the
organisational mission.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

ASSESSMENT CONDITIONS
Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent
performance of typical activities experienced in the management and leadership field of work and include

AQF SPECIFICATIONS FOR ASSESSMENTS
AQF Specifications for Assessments in Advanced Diploma Qualifications:
This assessment is set in accordance with the criteria for
AQF Level 6. As stated in the AQF specification for
the Advanced Diploma qualifications must be designed and accredited to enable graduates to demonstrate
the learning outcomes expressed as knowledge, skills and the application of knowledge and skills specified
in the level 6 criteria and the Advanced Diploma descriptor.
Students at this level will have specialised knowledge and skills for skilled/paraprofessional work and/or
further learning.

ACSF SPECIFICATIONS AND FOUNDATION SKILLS
The term ‘Foundation Skills’ is currently used to include the core skills defined in the Australian Core Skills
Framework (ACSF) as well as the employability skills identified by employers as critical for effective
performance in the workplace.
Foundation skills encompass both the core skills of reading, writing, oral communication, numeracy and
learning as described by the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF), and the Employability Skills/Core
Skills for Work. They exist on a continuum from very basic skills to highly-developed and specialist skills.
The foundation skills for this unit are located in the Unit Outline Booklet and have been addressed in the
assessment as part of the performance criteria for this unit.

Students should submit assessment tasks with the provided cover sheet.
Assessments should be submitted on or before their due date. Extensions for individual assessment tasks
may be negotiated in specific circumstances. Consultation on this must occur prior to the due date and
extensions due to illness will require a medical certificate. Extensions must be confirmed by the Academic
Manager in writing.

Appendix”. Overall, the assessment requires students to demonstrate senior leadership behaviour and
personal and professional competence. This includes communicating organisational mission and goals,
influencing groups and individuals, building and supporting teams, and demonstrating personal and
professional competence. The assessment has 4 Tasks and the details are provided below:
Task 1: In this part students will be required to ensure the organisational expectations are met and
investigate incidents in accordance with legal and organisational requirements. Students will also

Task 2: In this part students will plan the implementation and resourcing of an organisational change

promote the business.
The Scenario:
The year is 2020 and you are dealing with the impact COVID-19 has had on the businesses
operations. A lockdown has occurred and your staff can no longer come to the office. You are
required to prepare for remote work arrangements and ensure quality of work is not impacted.
a) In order for work-from-home arrangements to be successful, you are required to prepare an
Remote Work Information Guide that is to be distributed to staff members. In your Remote Work
Information Guide you must:

build support for the implementation at all stages.

Scenario 3:
After 2 months of work from home practices, you learn that staff are cutting corners in their paper
work as they feel no one is watching over them. This leads to many non-compliances and Max
Lionel Realty staff are losing their reputation for being professional and ethical agents. Staff is also
losing motivation and some staff members feel disconnected and anxious about the future.
a) The CEO asks you to explain how you have coped with work from home, as a manager. You
must provide the CEO with a report explaining the following:

currently employs approximately 100 people, 80 of whom are licensed real estate agents.
Through its client agents, the organization manages property sales and rentals (both residential
and commercial) on behalf of a range of clients. The organization also separately engages in
investment activities, such as property and land development.
Max Lionel Realty has been a member of the Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW) since 2008
and proudly follows the REINSW Code of Practice.
