Assignment #1: Transforming Stress to Wellness

Instructions:
You now have introductory knowledge of basic human motivation and behavior, stress management, problem-solving and wellness. Using this knowledge and additional research, you will apply these concepts to explore how stress may be positively transformed to a higher state of wellness or well-being.
In pairs, You will research a notable person of interest, identify stressors that they have dealt with (or currently deal with), how these stressors impact this person’s everyday life and wellness, and what actions they take to manage their stressors. As we know, many notable people do not manage stress constructively, choosing to use negative coping techniques or defence mechanisms instead (perhaps this is how they became notable!). This contrast may be an appropriate place you may wish to consider starting at. The key is to explore how this person currently manages their stress proactively which has led them to model well-being or to be on the journey to a higher state of well-being/wellness.
Directions:
With you partner decide which outcome will best reveal the result of your research:
Essay with an introduction and conclusion (not more than 1500 words) – may contain tables or worksheets.

Select and research a notable person of interest (should be well-known and easy to research). Advise your instructor who this person is (there may be a need to avoid duplication or to educate your instructor who the person is, if they are not well-known).

The content is to address:
Introduction to the person.
Identification of the stressors(obstacles) they have had or currently face (ie. finances, public image, family, etc)
The impact these stressors have upon the dimensions of wellness in their everyday life.
The strategies or actions they have taken or currently are taking to address their stress, and how this is/has brought about a transformation to improve their well-being/wellness.
Your reflection as to whether this has genuinely worked for the person, will continue to work for them, or perhaps you have additional recommendations for them if you could meet and speak with them.
