You will be using a ‘MEMO FORMAT’ in answering the PBL case study on ‘How do we address our Staffing Problems?’ , at p. 482, chapter 13 of the prescribed text.  Marketing Research and Data Analysis

You will address a memo to the CEO of Eastern Leagues that addresses the 3 questions at the end of the case study. Please use a minimum of 5 credible academic sources including the prescribed text in responding to the case questions and ensure that you are able to link relevant ER theories/concepts to your discussion drawn from any of the lecture topics from weeks 1-12.

The memo format to be used for this assessment is as follows.

Prepare a coversheet and a reference list.

Use the basic memo format provided .

Use APA (7th ed.) format for citations and references. Prepare one document in Word.

If you have not been attending our previous online classes, please take time to watch the week 11 recorded lecture video as I have discussed some possible ways to answer the case study questions.  It is important to link relevant ER theories/concepts drawn from the prescribed text and to cite your sources using APA format.

Please remember that you only have 900 words for this task and a weight of 30% , thus approximately, 300 words to answer each case study question.

In case question 2, try to explore a few possible topic questions linking relevant ER theories/concepts to support your responses if appropriate, i.e.

1.  Based on the assignment 3 case issues, how can you manage labour turnover, applying the ER theories/concepts which we have discussed?  (i.e. chapter 12/Industrial conflict and other chapters)

2. What management style/practice is appropriate to manage the organisational/ER problem?  (refer to ch.5 – role of management)

3. What relevant government legislations including interventions to address the workplace issue? (chs. 4, 8 , 9- role of state)

4.  What is the role of collective bargaining practices or collective agreement in this particular case study? (ch. 11)

In Case question 3, you may want to explore these topic questions, i.e.

5. What is the role of unions to assist the employees in the case study? (ch. 6)

6.  What about the non-union employee representation? How can this practice address the labor issue. (ch. 7)
